Heath Pool

across the pool

Overgrowing of trees around the pool, 2014

At the western end of the pool the retaining wall is in a very poor state of repair in several locations. In other places it has been damaged by self set trees which have not been managed.
The islands in the central areas of the pool are badly eroded, and the water quality is very poor.
The density of the vegetation restricts views into this area from other parts of the park and has no visual connection with the rest of the park.

The proposed work to the pool  involves managing the fish stocks, removal of silt through dredging, lowering the water level to allow works to the edges, replacing the railings, repairing the model boat launch and new planting.

Hi. Its planned for September – November time. We don’t have an exact date yet and access to view it will be limited as due to safety the pool area will be largely fenced off. If you want to send your contact details to deborah.merrick@dudley.gov.uk we will do our best to contact you when we get closer to It (although the date may be changed at late notice due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances).
