There are all sorts of ways that you can get involved at Mary Stevens Park.
The Park Ranger is keen to hear from anyone who wants to get involved. Volunteers may wish to apply their existing skills and specialism’s to the project or learn new skills. All are welcomed.
Potential opportunities include:
- Help research the history of the park and the history of the house before the park came into being (see history project meet-ups in the whats on page)
- Help turn the historical research into an online archive.
- Assist with Forest Schools, educational visits and more.
- Carry out wildlife and visitor surveys.
- Undertaking practical conservation or horticultural work (See volunteer Wednesdays in the Whats on page)
Contact the Ranger on 01384 815279 or email@example.com to discuss available opportunities
Friends of Mary Stevens Park group
The Friends of Mary Stevens Park is a group of local people who discuss ways of improving and regenerating the park to its full potential and encourage increased public use.
Working alongside Dudley Council, we have been a part of the restoration project since it started. We continue to work closely with West Midlands Police on measures to improve the safety of the park and with the restoration project, we now can’t wait to see this already good park become great once more.
The friends group started in 2002 and we are always looking to recruit new members. If you are interested in becoming a friend of the park please get in touch with Councillor Heather Rogers on 01384 824939 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
